Communication.jpgWe hear the clichés all the time, “you have to communicate” or “communication is key”. For effective leadership, the clichés are true. Through my experiences as a student athlete or employee in a sports setting I can think of numerous examples where a lack of communication or a lack of effective communication led to a number of difficulties and failures by a team or organization. lack_of_communication.jpg

There are many different models of communication which might be acceptable and effective in numerous situations. Communication is an art and not a science. There are many models and tools which contribute to effective leadership and communication. An efffective leader is able to examine various models and tools and correctly choose those which best serve their needs and the needs of the organization.
